Meta Title and Description

Customize how your short links appear when shared on social media, messaging apps, and other platforms that display link previews. This feature is available on Pro and Max plans.

What Are Meta Title and Description?

When you share a link on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, or Slack, they show a preview card with:

  • Meta Title — The headline displayed in the preview
  • Meta Description — A short summary displayed below the title

By default, these are fetched from the destination URL. With this feature, you can override them to show custom content.

Setting Custom Meta Data

  1. Create or edit a short link.
  2. Find the Meta Title and Meta Description fields.
  3. Click the pencil icon to enable editing.
  4. Enter your custom title and description.
  5. Save the link.

Why Customize Meta Data?

  • Brand consistency — Show your brand name instead of the destination site's title.
  • Call to action — Write compelling preview text to increase click-through rates.
  • Context — Provide additional context about what the link contains.
  • Campaign messaging — Align the preview with your marketing campaign.

Tips

  • Keep the meta title under 60 characters for best display across platforms.
  • Keep the meta description under 160 characters.
  • Use action-oriented language to encourage clicks.
  • Test your link preview by sharing it in a private message before posting publicly.
