Deep Links
Deep links allow you to redirect mobile users directly to a specific screen within a mobile app, while desktop users are sent to the regular web URL. This feature is available on Pro and Max plans.
What Are Deep Links?
A deep link is a URL that points to a specific page or content within a mobile app rather than a website. For example:
- Open a product page directly in the Amazon app
- Jump to a specific video in the YouTube app
- Navigate to a profile in the Instagram app
Setting Up Deep Links
- Create or edit a short link.
- Find the Deep Link option in the link settings.
- Enable deep linking.
- Enter the iOS URL scheme or Android intent URL for the target app.
- The web destination URL serves as the fallback when the app is not installed.
- Save the link.
How It Works
When a user clicks your short link:
- Mobile users with the app installed — Redirected directly to the app screen.
- Mobile users without the app — Redirected to the web destination URL.
- Desktop users — Always redirected to the web destination URL.
Use Cases
- E-commerce — Send users directly to a product page in your shopping app.
- Social media — Link to profiles, posts, or content in social apps.
- Media — Open specific videos, podcasts, or articles in their respective apps.
- Food delivery — Link to a restaurant or menu item in a delivery app.
